"Your organisation activation service" would be a KMS server. A server that is setup in big organizations to mass activate windows and it calls home to Microsoft sometimes otherwise all activations are cancelled. Since you just entered a KMS key (they are generic ones) and did nothing to setup a KMS server Windows has NOTHING to contact. This build treated Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1 product keys as Windows 10 product keys, meaning they could be entered during installation to activate the free license, without the need to upgrade first to "activate" the hardware with Microsoft's activation servers. I entered it in the change product key section of the Activation settings and it triggered the upgrade from Windows 10 Home to a fully activated Windows 10 Pro. So, it seems like Windows 8.1 product keys work exactly the same way in Windows 10 that they did for Windows 8.1. Thinking about this, it is quite fair. If you buy Windows 11 license keys, you will be able to use them for upgrades (Windows 10 -> Windows 11) or clean installations of Windows 11. Windows 10 activation: in general, your Windows 10 system will be activated automatically with the digital license (called a digital entitlement in Windows 10); you don’t need to type the product key manually. Windows 8.1 & Windows 7: you need to find the product keys contained in the confirmation email you received after purchasing the Copy the "config" folder into the system32 folder. Launch ProduKey, click File > Select Source, and select the Windows folder you just created. You can't just point it at the config folder directly.
